Maddee Ritter’s debut album ‘Songs of Love & Death’ is as advertised. During the already turbulent and destabilizing year of 2020, Ritter experienced the tragic loss of a close friend while also falling deeply in love for the first time. Says Ritter, “songs began pouring out of me as if a dam had broken, and everything I had been living through was finally finding its way out. This process was incredibly cathartic and revealed my capabilities in writing and production that I hadn’t realized before.” This first full-length offering marks their arrival into adulthood. Across the span of this album you can hear Maddee’s musical voice coming sharply into focus, revealing itself in all of its joyful and painful truth.
